Honolulu police arrested a 57-year-old man on suspicion of criminal property damage yesterday morning for allegedly throwing a rock at a 49-year-old man’s car in Waimanalo last week.

Police said the incident happened at 8:35 a.m. April 21 when the suspect ran into the street to confront the victim. Police said the 57-year-old man stopped the 49-year-old man’s vehicle and threw a rock through the windshield, causing glass to fall onto the victim.

The 49-year-old man called police who took a report at the scene. The suspect left the area. But on Thursday, police said the 57-year-old man went to Castle Hospital and called police with a different version of the story, saying the victim tried to run him down.

Police arrested the 57-year-old man yesterday afternoon.
