Hawaii’s Yukie Aizawa was among 12 finalists in the United States Bartenders’ Guild annual Tales of the Cocktail Hand-Shaken Daiquiri Competition in New Orleans.

Her "Green Dolphin St." cocktail competed against 11 other beverages concocted by bartenders participating in the contest sponsored in part by Bacardi Rum.

The first-place Judges’ Choice winner was the "Hot Havana Nostalgia" daiquiri by Christopher Sinclair from Sacramento, Calif., while the first-place People’s Choice award went to "Ode to Hemingway," created by Travis Tober from Austin, Texas.

Sinclair received a trophy and a check for $1,500, while Tober received a trophy at Friday’s competition. Sinclair now advances to the World Cocktail Competition in Queenstown, New Zealand.
