Grass fire contained after forcing evacuation of Haleiwa homes
Honolulu firefighters Friday contained a grass fire that consumed approximately10 acres and prompted the evacuation of several homes in Haleiwa.
The fire was first reported at 3:05 p.m. Eight houses on Kaika Place were evacuated as a precaution.
The fire was contained at 7:16 p.m.
None of the structures in the area were damaged. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
