Costa Rica earthquake poses no tsunami threat to Hawaii
A strong earthquake struck off the coast of Costa Rica early this morning, but did not trigger a tsunami alert for Hawaii.
The magnitude 6.0 temblor hit at 1:29 a.m. Hawaii time 27 miles west of Sardinal, Costa Rica at a depth of about 25 miles, according to officials at the U.S. Geological Survey.
No injuries were reported.
