More Jack Johnson concert tickets on sale

Students at Mililani Ike Elementary School received a three-song concert from Jack Johnson on Wednesday for winning a bottle cap recycling challenge.

Fans of local pop superstar Jack Johnson have a few new options to try for tickets to his previously sold-out concerts on Aug. 1 and Aug. 2 at the Waikiki Shell.

Johnson’s nonprofit organization, Kokua Foundation, announced Tuesday that a limited number of production tickets — seats held back by show promoters — would be released to the general public at noon Wednesday. In a continuing effort to thwart scalpers, tickets released for the Aug. 2 concert will be paperless.

Tickets will be available for purchase at all Ticketmaster outlets and online at Ticketmaster.com.

Another option for tickets is to participate in the Kokua Foundation’s online ticket auctions. If sitting on the lawn isn’t good enough, “some of the best seats and a few pit tickets” are available to bid on eBay.

The auctions are currently underway and run through July 29 at 8 p.m.
