Water main break closes Keehi boat harbor offices, restrooms

A break in a water main has prompted state boating officials to close the administrative offices and restrooms at Keehi small boat harbor.

The offices and restrooms were closed at noon after a contractor drilling fence holes drilled into the harbor water line, the state Department of Land and Natural Resources said in a news release.

The department said no potable water is available at the piers, boat wash-down area, showers and in buildings. State boating administrator Ed Underwood said officials are now working to restore services.

The department said there’s no estimate on when closed areas will be reopened and water service restored.
