Arizona-based Kahala Brands has acquired Pinkberry, a company credited with reinvigorating the frozen yogurt business with its tart flavor profiles beginning in 2005.
California-based Pinkberry has more than 260 stores in 20 countries, including two Hawaii stores at Honolulu International Airport and Kahului Airport.
Kahala Brands will consolidate Pinkberry’s corporate operations in California, and will run franchising operations from the Kahala home base in Arizona. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Kahala Brands owns 18 quick-service, franchising companies including Cold Stone Creamery, Blimpie and Maui Wowi.
