Junior high student accused of bomb threat against school
ARLINGTON, Texas »Police in North Texas say a Sikh junior high student of Indian descent has admitted threatening to detonate a bomb at school.
But investigators deny social media claims from a young woman who says she’s the boy’s cousin that a bully falsely accused him of making the threats.
Arlington police Lt. Christopher Cook says the boy was arrested last week on a charge of making a terroristic threat at Nichols Junior High School. He says the boy told another student two separate days last week he had a bomb in his backpack and would take it into a bathroom and detonate it.
Cook says the other student told a teacher who notified police. The classroom was evacuated last Friday and the backpack inspected. No explosive device was found.
