3 floors evacuated for hazmat incident at Vegas Strip hotel
LAS VEGAS » Authorities say three floors of a Las Vegas Strip hotel have been evacuated while hazardous materials teams investigate a substance found in an unoccupied room.
Deputy Clark County Fire Chief Jeff Buchanan said no injuries were reported after firefighters were summoned shortly before noon to the Luxor hotel-casino.
Buchanan says the 27th, 28th and 29th floors were evacuated.
Hotel spokeswoman Yvette Monet says a guest room attendant found the substance and notified hotel officials.
Monet says about 54 guests in the iconic 30-story pyramid tower were asked to evacuate.
The Luxor has about 4,400 rooms in multiple towers.
