Hawaii Kai man charged with murder in fatal Makiki stabbing

Ilai Luamanu was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the Aug. 7 stabbing death of Iosua Fiso, also known as Iosua Faipaua. The stabbing happened on Makiki Street after a confrontation with the suspect.
A 28-year-old Hawaii Kai man was charged in the stabbing death of a 25-year-old man in Makiki last week.
Ilai Luamanu was charged Sunday for second-degree murder. His bail was set at $500,000.
Police said Iosua Fiso, also known as Iosua Faipaua, was stabbed on Aug. 7 on Makiki Street after a confrontation with the suspect. He was taken to a hospital where he died.
The Medical Examiner’s Office said the cause of death was a stab wound to the chest.
Police arrested the Luamanu at 10:40 p.m. Friday in the McCully-Moiliili area on suspicion of second-degree murder.
The 28-year-old man has a criminal record of second-degree theft, fourth-degree theft and promotion of a dangerous drug in the third degree.

does anyone know if this was another case of Micronesian vs. Micronesian?
In this case it looks like Samoan vs Samoan.
One was Samoan, usually it’s Micro Nuts……….
I guess with a name like “roadalii” it should’ve been a dead giveaway that you’re a recent transplant, because ANY local could look at those names and instantly recognize them for Samoan. Given the neighborhood I don’t fault you at all of assuming such crime could’ve been the work of one of our many pleasant COFA migrants that the federal government has gifted Hawaii with, but you really need to bone-up on all things local if you’re going to stay here a while.
