Caller extorts money from one man, unsuccessful with another
An unidentified male telephoned men in the Kapolei and Aiea areas Monday to extort money from them and was able to get money from a 26-year-old man, police said.
The calls occurred between noon and 4:30 p.m., made by a male whose whereabouts remain unknown, police said.
Police provided no details on the substance of the calls but said the caller was unable to get money from a 55-year-old victim.
Police have opened a first-degree extortion case.
