Man arrested for allegedly using counterfeit money

Police arrested a 44-year-old man after he allegedly gave a delivery driver a counterfeit bill to pay for pizza in the McCully area.

At about 12:20 a.m. today, a driver delivered pizza to the suspect who then gave him a $100 bill. The bill was determined to be counterfeit and police were called.

Officers arrested the 44-year-old man at Century Center on Kalakaua Avenue. Police also discovered the suspect in possession of harmful drugs.

He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree forgery, promotion of a harmful drug in the fourth-degree and fourth-degree theft.
